Indian States
Information Meghalaya
Meghalaya is one of only three states in India with a Christian majority. Encompassing a sensitive border zone where India meets Bhutan, China, Myanmar and Bangladesh, the region is remote. This has kept it untouched. If you're seeking beauty and solitude, Meghalaya is for you. It offers a spectrum of sylvan surroundings, rich cultural heritage, misty heights, breathtakingly beautiful waterfalls, luxurious vegetation, flora and fauna. Cities Shillong The picturesque colonial capital city lies at a height of 1,496 metres, above sea level. For long a summer retreat of the British, the beautifully kept golf course, rolling hills, heather-covered slopes, waterfalls, moving mists, silent lakes and country cottages, and climate provoke comparisons with Scotland.
