A thrilling experience traveling through a
region known as Thar Desert which till date remains virtually isolated
from the rest of the world. A complete different world altogether waits
for you. All over the tour one encounters typical lifestyles, culture,
forts, castles, cuisine, safaris, customs, mysteries, stories and
experiences.
DAY 01 : JODHPUR
: Welcome ceremony, Mehrangarh and Umaid Bhawan.
You are received & assisted at Airport / Railway Station and checked in
your hotel. Afterwards we set out to see one of the most majestic forts of
Rajasthan - the Mehrangarh fort from every nook & corner. In the Suncity
Jodhpur, we cover a few glimpses of the Umaid Bhawan palace & the life
style in the busy old bazaars.
DAY 02 :
JAISALMER : Village Safari and the Golden City.
In the morning we drive out to nearby villages which exude the rustic
charm of harsh but highly principled living of desert folks. The Bishnois
are staunch environment conservationists, follow twenty nine principles
and their co-existence with the nature can be clearly seen. We have a
sumptuous lunch with the villagers there. After some leisure we further
drive to the last desert citadel the golden city Jaisalmer. After check in
we spread out free to explore the labyrinthine streets of this fairy tale
city.
DAY 03 : JAISALMER : City, Sights, Samm,
Sand and Safari.
After a leisurely breakfast we start out in the city to get lost in the
unending maze of the amazing fort which seems to be lifted straight out
of Arabian nights. We also visit the most intricately carved Havelis,
Jarokha’s and Gadsisar tank. In the evening we explore the perfect sand
dunes at Samm over the camel with folk music, dance and sunset at the
backdrop. Night stay in the hotel at Jaisalmer.
DAY 04 : JODHPUR : Kheechan village,
Abandoned Town and Dinner.
After breakfast we drive to Kheechan village for migratory birds from
central Asia known as demoiselle cranes & Kurjan in the local lingo.
Further we halt at Osiyan - An ancient trading town now famous for its
beautiful Hindu & Jain temples dating back from 8th to 12th
century. On arrival at Jodhpur we browse through the market. We can have
royal dinner at hotel Umaid Bhawan Palace to make it a grand finale
(optional).
DAY 05 : JODHPUR : The tour ends.
Day at leisure till departure for the onward journey.

EXTENSION
DAY 04 : BIKANER : Desert Drive through
Kolayat and Gajner.
From Jaisalmer in the morning we drive to Kheechan village for migratory
birds. Thereafter we can make a few halts at Kolayat ( For the beautiful
temples ) or Gajner ( Palace & wild life sanctuary ). On arrival at
Bikaner we keep the rest of the day at leisure.
DAY 05 : BIKANER : City sightseeing &
Camels.
We start out late morning for the grand Junagarh Fort, Lallgarh Palace
and the unusual Bhandasar Jain temples. In the evening we drive out for
one of the most spectacular sights in the desert- a trip to the Camel
Breeding Farm. The best sight there is to see hundreds of camels
returning back to the farm after the day’s grazing in the backdrop of a
romantic sunset.
DAY 06 : JODHPUR : Rats & Nagaur Fort.
In the morning we proceed to the Karnimata temple at Deshnoke which
houses millions of rats in its courtyard where they are worshipped also.
Further we make a halt at Nagaur to visit its huge fort. After arrival
at Jodhpur we make an excursion to Osiyan - The 8th century
trading town famous for its temples. On return back to Jodhpur we check
in hotel. Optional dinner at Hotel Umaid Bhawan Palace.
DAY 07 : JODHPUR : Tour Ends.
